Visual Radio

I wrote or imagined this 2/20/05 11:01 AM. At that time "visualradio" was one month old.

Nokia had a project in Finland that never really got off.

Mobile-tv is still waiting for the breakthrough.

I'm recycling this to show that a lot has happened during the past three (3) years.

Mobile devices are now true multi-task products with lots of features.

How many users are able to take advantage of all the FAB's (features - advantages - benefits)? I was very excited about the potential of "visualradio" as a part of a road information system. Today I can see that my expectations where way too high.

I will analyze sometimes later what I was "dreaming about". It might be a good definition for things to come.

A Russian blog commented "Visual Radio".

New Media Camp and Videoblogs

New Media Camp: "Sometimes, people ask me what gear I use to create a videoblog. For the most part, the stuff you already own is pretty good.

But let's pretend you're going to run out and buy some new stuff to create videoblogs. I'll tell you what I've got, give you some variations on the theme, and we can discuss other people's setups in the comments section.

Sound good? My Computer: A MacBook- I have a dual core Intel Macbook. Not the pro. Just a Macbook. This has proven to be strong enough to handle my video needs.

I am a Mac guy. I've used Macs, PCs, and Linux boxes for decades, but my heart belongs to Apple. Why? Easy. They're easy."

Helge: I learned more about Michael Bailey yesterday as we twittered about clean and green tech environments. I've some things in my mind but need to check out the interest.

About

Greetings all, Michael Bailey here, aka MobaMan.

This morning, Friday, April 27th, 2007, I was reading a blog post written by Christopher Penn and his call to action struck a chord with me.

Christopher said, among other things, that

"The time has come to make use of our powers.

If you believe, as I do, that everyone who picks up a microphone or camera, is a rockstar and superhero in waiting, now is the time for us to unleash our powers as fully as we can on the world.

Produce media, gather audience, gain mindshare, and let new voices be heard.

The PodCamp UnConference series is a good start to this, but there’s more to be done, more to share with the world."

The Opinions of a Loud Mouth Man

Helge: Just added me to Twitter. His Aboout: "In 1982 during the Falklands War my Father in a letter home, whilst serving on board the Hermes , suggested that we buy for me a ZX81 ( we spent forever trying to decipher 2×81 ). My Father created in me a passion for maths, technical problems and getting things done. Many years later and a involvement in the Linux and Open Source community ( due in part to the encouragemnt of Andrew Hollingsworth and Damien (Murff ) Murphy ) leads me to now being a strong supporter and proponent of free and open source software today . I'm 30 something ( as of 2006 ) Married with one Daughter. Currently ive been enticed into Blogging and since it means it keeps my own local wiki up to date I dont mind so much!"

The Opinions of a Loud Mouth Man: "Voting with your Feet. Ive mentioned before about the interesting and useful new stuff I keep learning within the social networks to which I belong. Today was one of thos “Genius” moments where in I see something that makes me sit up and say “Damn Right!”. The story behind this discovery of this particular image is that my online friend ( a new distinction in our society I feel ) Susan Reynolds posted the image from Chris Pirillos flickr stream. In the comments on Flickr Raines points out that it was “Kaliya Hamlin (aka IdentityWoman)” who wrote it as part of Ungomecamp and its an organisational principle of Open Space Technology Format . I think it sums up quite a bit of how I feel somedays especially when I am looking for ways to improve any community in an attempt to see it flourish and grow. Thanks for reading"
