You Too Journalist

Got a cellphone camera? You, too, can be a television journalist. Now, millions of people have the ability not only to tell you what they are seeing, but to show you.

The technology that turns any random bystander into a "portable, mobile, cinematography unit" is especially exciting for television, which depends on pictures.

Television news often relies on interviews with witnesses who recount their experiences, which is not ideal. The attack on the London subway system - an unexpected news event in an inaccessible location - was a good example.

Pictures came "exclusively from people who happened to be there with the technology.
